ACCOMMODATIONS

Ron Koenig and Sue Cox did some major scouting for the Fish In 2000 and have produced the following list of accommodations. We received a heads-ups from them this past week, which says the cabin rentals and campsites need to be reserved by anyone wishing to attend as soon as possible as there can be a year's waiting list in some of the park areas.

Once you make your reservations, let us know by email and we will start an "I'm going list," with your campsite number or hotel/motel name so others can find you.

These are state parks all located in Centre County near State College. You can call 1-888-PA PARKS and reserve spots up to 11 months in advance.

State Parks:

Bald Eagle State Park 814-625-2775. This park has a large campground. There are modern, primitive and electrical hook-up sites available. There is a huge lake. This lake holds panfish and bass with size limits and creel limits posted. Boat rental is available at Bald Eagle Marina. (814-625-2951).

Black Moshannon State Park 814-342-5960. There are campsite available described as modern and electrical hookups. There are also cabins available - modern and rustic.

Penn Rossevelt Salt Park 814-342-5960. This is a primitive, tent camping campground. There are toilets but no showers available.

Poe Paddy 717-349-8778. Primitive camping. "Poeman" tells us there is some very productive fishing in this area.

Private Campgrounds:

Bellefonte/State College KOA Campground. Water, electric, sewer, cable t.v. hook up, cabins, and tent camping. By RESERVATION ONLY 1-800-KOA-8127.

Fort Bellefonte Campground. Closest campground to State College. 1-800-487-9067

Kearns Campground. Tent camping. Electric and water connections. 814-364-1339

Knoebels 500 sites-walking distance to PA's largest free-admission amusement park. 1-800-ITS FUN

Seven Mountains Campground. Full camping, tv hookups, cabins. 814-364-1910
