Head green or red cabbage
1 tsp sugar
1/2 Cup water
Take out and drain off all but about two tablespoons of the fat.
Slice your cabbage as you would for coleslaw, fine.
Put it into the skillet and start it to cooking.
Sprinkle about one teaspoon of sugar over the cabbage and add a half cup of water over it. Turn it down and put a lid on top. Let it cook for about 15 or so minutes.
Slice up the bacon fine and put it back into the cabbage. Salt and Pepper to taste. I like to add about a spoon full of butter right at the end.
That is it and boy does it taste good. Made it tonight with pork chops. You can also make it with ham instead of bacon if you like. It is an easy dish but we sure like it and others that we have made it for like it to. Tastes great the next day warmed up to. Just and old Ark'y way of doing it. I call it Alma's Cabbage.
