ROD BUILDING TIPS
Template for Rod Tips Sizes

By Allen Crist

Here's one that may save you time and frustration. Make a template showing the difference in metric and the comparative rod part sizes. Once produced you match the end of the rod piece with the appropriate 'spot' on the template.

To produce the template, use a piece of card stock, and dip the tip of drill bits in paint and 'print' the impression on the card stock. As you do each one write the metric size above it, and then match it to the rod piece, writing the size below the 'print.'

It takes a little time to produce, but will save time - and frustration in the long term. ~ Allen Crist
