Peacock bass are in the freshwater canals & lakes from Fort Lauderdale south thru Miami. Not too many on the west coast except for the occasional catch south of Alligator Alley ( I-75 ) in the Glades. If you don't have too many concerns about toothy alligators, crocodiles or cottonmouths like some Floridian fishers; where wading is always a gamble you'll be fine, otherwise just bank or boat fishing.
