A midseason update on the Gaspe rivers.

This has been a good season thus far on the Gaspe (I am speaking spefically the tip of the
peninsula) in terms of fishing. Water levels and temperatures have been good with the
exception of 1 week in June. And, runs of Atlantic Salmon (and even sea-run brook trout)
have been great.

We fish 8 different rivers and most have fished very, very well, including the York,
Dartmouth, St. Jean, and Grande Rivers. Today we took 5 nice salmon on the York River
and also took salmon on the St. Jean. Most of the fish that are being taken now are on dry
flies (sight casting dry flies to salmon up to 40lbs is what makes Gaspe Atlantic Salmon
fishing so exciting).
