Didn’t seem to make much difference to the trout, though. I don’t fish water that gets a lot of pressure, like the Bitterroot (it gets a great hatch; everyone should go there, please!); on the rivers I do, the fish aren’t real picky. I’ll continue to use the olive flies I have because they work, but more and more, I’ll switch to the brownish ones.


The olive appears as though it would also make a good sculpin pattern, too.
