    Default ...and one for Grandpa!

Well, I shipped the spinning rods to the grandkids and they're using them in Louisville, KY this weekend with their other grandpa. They want to fish with me real soon, so I made a non-fly rod for myself so we all have the same equipment.

You don't see many spinning rods with cork reel seats. I had the cork and the lathe was warmed up, so I said why not? This one of those $15 blanks from rod-blanks.com . I used single-foot polished hardaloy ceramic guides, and no CP on the thread wraps. Funny how the color really jumps at you with the flash. Fun little 2-night project. Think I'll take it to the gill factory in the morning just to make sure it works real good.

If I don't do it, who will? 'Tis better to give than to receive, so I built it and GAVE it to myself. I thank me!
